The following job description describes the criteria for the role of High Performance Software Engineer. The Jr. High Performance Software Engineer performs analysis, design, programming, and modification to computer programs for software products and customer applications. He/she writes code and completes programming, testing and debugging of applications, determines forms, procedures and other documentation needed for the installation and maintenance of application programs. Required Skills: Two or more years of experience in systems analysis, software development, process and data modeling, as well as process improvement and engineering methodologies. Experienced in system design methodologies, and evaluation of alternative system solutions. Knowledge of and experience in identifying best practices in software development and processes. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Desired Skills: Experience providing software development and support in a high-performance computer environment. Skilled in high-level programming languages, e.g., C/C , Java, FORTRAN, HPF. Experience with parallelization techniques including MPI and OpenMP.
