Job Description: Raytheon will be establishing a regional office in the Vicksburg, MS area to facilitate a team of subject matter experts, and other support personnel, who will support high performance computer software application development and analytical research for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This regional office is to be fully staffed by September 2013. Raytheon Company is accepting applications from prospective candidates, in various technical and non-technical capacities, entry-level to seasoned professionals, to fill several very important roles of responsibility. The following job description describes the criteria for the role of Senior Computer Operator. The Senior Computer Operator monitors and controls computers and peripheral equipment according to operating instructions. He/she observes machine and control panel on computer consoles for error lights, verification printouts and error messages and machine stoppage or faulty output. He/she will serve as the Team Lead for daily computer operations activities. Required Skills: Eight or more years performing computer operations for a data center. Basic knowledge of Unix-like operating systems. Two or more years serving as an Operations Team Lead. Desired Skills: Experience performing operations in a high-performance data center. Familiarity with monitoring computational facilities. Required Education (including Major): High School Diploma. Associates degree a plus. Existing Secret Clearance required.
