2K a year Position Summary Responsible for every aspect of purchasing for the company as well as selling event space and hotel room blocks.
Goods include food, beverage, FF&E and other consumables and services include work performed on company premises or on behalf of the company.
Works closely with the Warehouse/Receiving, EVS and Grounds Keeping Manager to ensure proper receiving, storage and distribution of goods throughout the property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Ensures that the company expenses are minimized through the use of effective purchasing through obtaining multiple bids, leveraging parent company's enterprise wide purchasing power and pricing and by obtaining the most competitive prices for goods and services.
Keeps inventory manageable to properly supply the company's needs and to maximize inventory turnover.
Establishes an approved vendor listing in all required trades/disciplines for service and maintenance as well as in all required categories of goods.
Obtains all required documentation from vendors and assists vendors in completing the vendor on-boarding process (including vendor due diligence) required by CDI and company's policies.
Works with CDI corporate purchasing/sourcing and serves as the liaison between CDI corporate purchasing/sourcing and the company to resolve any vendor issues.
Ensures that inventoried items are stored properly and issued in rotation to minimize waste and spoilage.
Implements operating and control procedures to ensure that movement of goods into and within the property is properly accounted for in conjunction with the Warehouse/Receiving, EVS and Grounds Keeping Manager.
Obtains and coordinates all product and purchase specifications from the various department heads.
Prepares purchase specifications for food and beverage items in conjunction with the Sr.
Manager of Food and Beverage and submits orders for all such specified items.
Responsible for each department receiving goods and services as required and as quickly as possible.
Conduct monthly inventories.
Establish regular delivery schedule with purveyors.
Maintain purchasing contract and supplier records and periodically update such records with Certificates of Insurance, licenses, permits, etc.
Ensure adherence to department's operational budget and control costs and expenditures.
Actively markets and engages with members of the public, group sales organizers, party planners and others interesting in holding an event or identifying blocks of hotel rooms to purchase and facilitates the sales of events space and hotel rooms to groups on terms advantageous to the company.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education / Training / Experience College Preferred; Five to ten years purchasing experience in the hospitality industry or combination of education and experience.
Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Must have the ability to obtain a Work Permit issued by the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
